Have you ever felt called by God but doubted whether you were the right person for the job? Have you ever questioned if you’re strong enough, equipped enough, or ready enough to carry out the purpose He’s placed on your heart?
I have.
Recently, I had what I call a “Moses moment.”
Moses was a man chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of slavery and into freedom — but when God first called him, his reaction wasn’t bold faith. It was doubt.
“Who am I that I should go?” (Exodus 3:11)
“What if they don’t believe me?” (Exodus 4:1)
“I am slow of speech and tongue.” (Exodus 4:10)
I get it. When God called me to lead this ministry, I stepped out in faith, but there have been so many moments where I’ve questioned myself — and honestly, questioned God.
“Am I really the right person?”
“What if I fail?”
“Is this even making a difference?”
But here’s what God has been teaching me: It was never about me. It was always about Him.
Moses’ job wasn’t to part the Red Sea — his job was to raise his staff. The power was always God’s.
In my own journey, I’ve realized that my job isn’t to have all the answers or carry the weight of this ministry alone. My job is to trust God, take the next step, and raise my staff in faith, even when I don’t know what’s next.
Maybe you’re feeling that way right now. Maybe you’ve been wrestling with God, wondering if you’re good enough or if you misheard His calling. I want to remind you of this truth: God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.
The wilderness seasons — the doubt, the fear, the questioning — are not wasted. Just like the Israelites learned to depend on God in the wilderness, so are we. The moments where we feel the weakest are the very moments where God shows His strength.
I’m learning to embrace my Moses moments, because each one is a reminder that this journey isn’t about me being perfect. It’s about being obedient. It’s about trusting that God is working behind the scenes, even when I can’t see it.
And guess what? The same is true for you.
You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to feel strong all the time. God isn’t waiting for you to be perfect — He’s just asking you to be willing.
So today, I encourage you: Raise your staff. Take the next step. Trust that God will part the sea.
He did it for Moses. He’s doing it for me. And He’ll do it for you.
“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” — Exodus 33:14
